Last week the K1 children were planning to go to Seletar Water Park as a fun field trip linked to their Unit of Study about Water. However, due to the low rainfall in Singapore during the last couple of months the PUB have temporarily closed it down.
So...as a result all of the K1 children have been focussed on how they can save water. Last Wednesday they went out and Flash-mobbed our school community to spread their message 'SAVE WATER!!!' There were K1 children visiting Infant, Junior, Middle and High School classrooms. They even popped into a number of staff meetings to make sure that teachers also know how to save water.
It was an amazingly powerful way for our children to take action and feel passionate about being able to make a difference in the world!!! They loved the experience and I am sure they have all been coming home and sharing their message.
Please find time to look at the video - it gives you a snapshot of the K1s flash-mobbing the whole school with their message. AMAZING!
